Carnival Panorama cruise ship features trampolines and dancing drones

Carnival Panorama is showcased in a virtual tour that highlights the fun and unique experiences aboard the cruise ship, set to debut from Long

The four-minute video tour is hosted by the ship’s cruise director Emma Nixon who takes viewers on a virtual journey throughout the cruise ship, from the groundbreaking aerial attraction SkyRide and the Choose Fun-themed WaterWorks aqua park to the first-ever Sky Zone trampoline park at sea, which was introduced during the Rose Parade earlier this year on the brand’s float.

Particular emphasis is placed on the ship’s varied dining and beverage options, with Nixon describing the offerings at Farhenheit 555 steakhouse, the family-style Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano, JiJi Asian Kitchen, cocktail pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar and Bonsai Teppanyaki where she notes “guests are encouraged to play with their food.”  Nixon also pays a visit to the brand’s first interactive culinary studio, details of which will be revealed in the near future.

Next, it’s on to the ship’s entertainment venues including Piano Bar 88 – “a jukebox without the quarters” Nixon explains – Limelight Lounge, home to the Punchliner Comedy Club, and Liquid Lounge where the award-winning Playlist Productions shows are presented.  Fun facts such as Carnival hosting 27,000 comedy shows a year fleetwide are scrolled throughout the bottom of the video news-style.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park

When Carnival Panorama debuts, it will introduce the first-ever indoor trampoline park and challenge zone at sea, in partnership with industry leader, Sky Zone.

Located on Decks 7 and 8, the expansive two-deck-high facility encompasses more than 3,000 square feet, providing high-flying fun for guests of all ages across a 12-lane trampoline court. Adjacent to the trampoline court will be a challenge zone equipped with a climbing wall, balance/jousting beam, Sky Ladder climbing apparatus and Tug of War.

Sky Zone will serve as the venue for a variety of activities that appeal to both the young and young at heart, including gravity-defying dodgeball games and above-the-rim basketball experiences where guests can become slam-dunk stars.

Other activities include nighttime blacklight glow parties, as well as toddler time sessions where young cruisers and their families can play with oversized soft blocks and participate in the bouncy fun.  There will be various fitness activities planned for all levels from beginning to advanced to get the whole family moving. Additional details on Carnival Panorama’s Sky Zone will be announced in the near future.

The 133,500-ton ship will also feature a massive WaterWorks aqua park, extra-roomy Family Harbor staterooms, a suspended ropes course, the SkyRide aerial attraction and Seuss at Sea, an exclusive partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises.

Wide range of accommodations

A wide range of accommodations will also be available, including spa staterooms with exclusive privileges at the luxurious Cloud 9 Spa, extra-roomy staterooms in Family Harbor, and tropical-inspired Havana staterooms and suites with exclusive daytime access to a Cuban-themed bar and pool.

Entertainment with dancing drones

For the first time, Carnival will employ “dancing drones” that interact with the shows’ music and 12 talented performers to create entertaining high-flying moments that add an exciting, never-before-seen visual element to the ship’s overall show experience.

Combining this new technology with special effects and iconic songs from the Woodstock era and musical theater, respectively, the new high-energy shows – Rock Revolution and Broadway Beats™ – complement other audience favorites for an array of entertainment options. Rock Revolution was previewed at Carnival Studios earlier this week.

CarnivalPanoramaEntertainment“When planning Carnival Panorama’s Playlist Productions shows, we challenged ourselves to think more creatively than ever before to find ways to ‘wow’ both our longtime guests and those sailing with us for the first time,” said Kerry Stables, creative director of Carnival Productions who leads an in-house team of accomplished entertainment professionals both on board and ashore. “From performing drones to new music genres and a keen attention to costuming, décor and theme details, these shows prove how innovative our productions have become and raise the bar on our offerings in a fun, creative and unique way.”

The two new only-on-Carnival Panorama shows are:

Rock Revolution, a modernized concert-style show inspired by the legendary Woodstock music festival that pays tribute to the music from the ‘Summer of ‘69’’ and fashion styles reminiscent of icons like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. Brought to life by top Los Angeles production talent, including acclaimed artistic director Jonathan Tessero, and accomplished choreographer Rudy Abreu whose credits include So You Think You Can Dance and World of Dance, the show features a horn trio and a three-person rock band playing illuminated LED-interactive drum sets while “dancing drones” fly throughout the theater to deliver a unique multi-sensory experience. Creative costume designs, classic rock songs, contemporary choreography and high octane vocals transform the stage into a reimagined tribute concert with a modern twist.

Broadway Beats, which follows a band of entertainers as they immerse themselves in the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods that come to life with hyper-realistic LED screens of signature NYC elements – the towering skyline, subway cars, bold street art and more. Directed by award winning Broadway Director Peter Flynn and choreographed by Broadway veteran Marcos Santana, who together have staged some of the most successful musicals around the country, the show playfully mixes city rhythms and electronic dance music and takes an imaginative, exhilarating trip through the city with brand new interpretations of some of Broadway’s greatest hits.

Additional Onboard Entertainment Options
The two new shows will join other guest favorites including Soulbound, a gothic-inspired show with dazzling special effects and R&B classics, and Celestial Strings, a journey that transitions through the seasons with imagery set to a rock and pop soundtrack merged with classical musicians playing live electric strings.

In addition to the four shows, Carnival Panorama will host a number of entertaining activities day and night including the South Beach-inspired Serenity Nights party at the ship’s outdoor adults-only retreat, a shipboard production of the hit Paramount TV series ‘Lip Sync Battle’ and so much more.

The Carnival Panorama is scheduled to enter service December 11, 2019, with a special three-day cruise from Long Beach then launch year-round seven-day Mexican Riviera service December 14, visiting top resort destinations including Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.
