NEWS: Windstar Cruises plans to resume sailings starting June 2021 to the Caribbean, Tahiti, Mediterranean and northern Europe.
Windstar is assessing multiple factors impacting their timing to resume operations and plan to re-start cruises in a phased manner with initial cruises having reduced guest occupancy, some modified itineraries, and enhanced health and safety protocols.
New timeline for resumption of operations:
Star Breeze – June 19, 2021 – Caribbean
Wind Star – June 19, 2021 – Mediterranean
Wind Spirit – July 15, 2021 – Tahiti
Wind Surf – August 8, 2021 – Mediterranean
Star Legend – September 4, 2021 – Northern Europe
Star Pride – November 3, 2021 – Caribbean
Windstar Cruises recently released a new printed voyage planner brochure with nearly 200 pages of information detailing offerings.
“This beautiful coffee-table publication is meant to educate and inspire people about Windstar and the 180 degrees from ordinary experience we have to offer,” says Windstar Cruises’ President Chris Prelog. “In 2021 through 2023, we have a mix of long-time favorites and fresh new itineraries, recently transformed yachts and exciting new cruise tours. We have planned further out so people can book early.”
Windstar continues to review and update their health and safety practices including enhanced sanitation protocols, health screenings, additional medical staff on board, flexible indoor and outdoor dining, and crew training.
Their Beyond Ordinary Care program is a multi-layered strategy with key hospital-grade elements: HEPA filters and UV-C ultraviolet germicidal irradiation to filter and disinfect circulated air, plus electrostatic sprayers to sanitize all surfaces throughout our yachts.
They continue to monitor local regulations for all countries and ports they visit and will notify guests of any local requirements. They have taken extraordinary measures to safely operate their yachts for guests and crew and will continue to do so.
